Proposed Runway Works at Land’s End Airport

The Isles of Scilly Steamship Company would like to extend an invitation to all neighbours, local businesses and interested parties to discuss the hardening of the runways at Land’s End.

This invitation follows the initial meeting held at the Airport on the 19th June and will discuss in more detail the timeframes, the drainage solutions and how the works will be undertaken. These improvements, which will be undertaken later this year, are essential to secure the links to the Isles of Scilly and local employment in West Penwith.

The design team, URS and the Sweett Group, will be available to talk you through the technical details of materials, timescales, drainage etc.

Members of the Airport staff will be available to answer any queries you may have about the operation of the Airport and their ongoing commitment to servicing the transport requirements of the Islands as well as providing employment and business opportunities in West Cornwall.

Everyone is welcome to attend on Thursday 5th September 2013 between 5 pm and 7.30 pm when tea and coffee will be available.

Please feel free to attend and raise any issues and concerns.

Thank you

Christopher Pearson

Airport Manager
