Highway Maintenance Scheme

August 2021 St Just Resurfacing work on Nancherrow Hill 19:00 – 06:00

Highway maintenance scheme • August 2021
St Just
Resurfacing work

An overnight road closure will be in place on Nancherrow Hill, St Just on Tuesday
24th August while resurfacing work takes place on the bridge.

We know that noise associated with night-time working can cause disruption to residents and we
understand this can be frustrating. Please be assured Cornwall Council aim to complete the noisiest operations as early as possible and will try to minimise any impact should the works overrun due to unforeseen circumstances.

We will have marshals on site to support residents and businesses needing local access. All through traffic will need to follow the diversions in place at all times.

Library 50th anniversary celebration

On Thursday 29th July, the library celebrated its 50th anniversary organised by The Friends of St Just Library, with storytelling for children with John Brolly, a display of St Just memorabilia from 1971 or thereabouts, books published from 1971 available for loan, a vintage book sale, and a wonderful library shaped celebration cake, big enough to feed everyone!

It was a wonderful afternoon, with librarians past and present amongst those in attendance, all ages enjoying celebrating our wonderful library. Many thanks to St Just Town Council, who now run the library, the library staff and to everyone involved in making sure this valuable community resource is there for the next 50 years.
