Live Emergency Exercise at Land’s End Airport

Please note that there will be a mandatory live emergency exercise at Land’s End Airport on Wednesday 13th November 2013.  This will commence at approximately 1000 hours and will involve a simulated aircraft incident.  Outside emergency services will attend the incident and this will involve an area not actually on the airfield, but to the north of the site.

Please do not be alarmed at the site of flashing lights etc. in the vicinity.  It is estimated that the exercise will finish approximately 1630 hours.

Project Proposed to help the Long Term Unemployed in St Just and Pendeen

Led by the Work Skills Training Academy of Cornwall College, a Partnership project is looking to businesses and community projects in St Just and Pendeen to join them in improving the employment skills of those affected by long term unemployment. The project is ambitious in looking to train people in the skills required by local businesses and provide people with meaningful qualifications locally. Proposed Runway Works at Land’s End Airport

The Isles of Scilly Steamship Company would like to extend an invitation to all neighbours, local businesses and interested parties to discuss the hardening of the runways at Land’s End.

This invitation follows the initial meeting held at the Airport on the 19th June and will discuss in more detail the timeframes, the drainage solutions and how the works will be undertaken.
