Biography
I have grown up in the area having attended Pendeen Primary School, Cape Cornwall Comprehensive and Penwith College and my family have lived in and been an integral part of Pendeen for generations. I studied Geography and Geology at Bristol University and moved away to work in London in my early twenties on completion of my degree. I worked in media, in London, for 11 years before returning home to Cornwall with my young family 16 years ago. I have lived back in the village for the past 8 years. Previously I have been a trustee for Geevor Tin Mine and am currently a committee member for the Friends of Pendeen Church who look after the fabric of the church building. My husband, Farmer Morris has served as a St Just town councillor for the past 11 years. My children have attended St Just Primary School and Cape Cornwall School and all played cricket over the years for St Just Cricket Club juniors, with my stepson, Stanley, also playing for the senior first team.
I have over 25 years’ experience in marketing, management, project management, networking, collaborative working, and latterly have been successful in several high scale funding bids for Penzance.
I hope to be able to offer these skills to support opportunities for the community within Pendeen and the St Just Council area. I am passionate about supporting local businesses, sustainable development, climate change action and enabling opportunities for future generations to live, work and grow within our local community.
