I have lived in Pendeen for ten years with my wife.
In 2013 I became a Trustee of Pendeen Community Heritage/Geevor Tin Mine and have been Chair of the Board of Trustees there since 2020.
In 2020 I took early retirement so that I could spend more time supporting Geevor and working as a volunteer on projects designed to benefit the local community.
For several years I have been an active member of the Steering Group of the Tin Coast Partnership and I am a member of the Steering Group for the current St Just Vitality Fund project.
I want to use my professional experience in sustainable tourism over some thirty years to help develop more sustainable tourism in the parish. This means making tourism more environmentally sensitive, socially equitable, and economically viable, and maximising the benefits of tourism for the local community while minimising the problems it causes for local people.
My other main interests include public transport, opportunities for young people, traffic and parking, and affordable housing.
