I was born in St Just into a family that goes back 500 years in the Parish.

Educated at St Just Primary School, Humphry Davey Grammar School and Camborne Technical College; achieving a HNC in Building Construction from Exeter University.

I have 45 years experience in the House Building and Construction sector in Procurement (Buyer ) for Materials and sub-contract labour. This career took me to Devon, the South East, London and later to the North West.

I retired back home in July 2020 having bought a home here 15 years ago.

My personal interests include Rugby ( now a spectator only ) Swimming , Walking , Keeping fit ,Reading and Music.

The Housing shortage for local youngsters is a very important issue and finding ways to address that by encouraging affordable and rented development in the area is key.

Climate change and the Environment are also pressing issues; tackling plastic usage, packaging and improving general waste management. By encouraging biodiversity, we can ensure the protection of our distinctive flora and fauna in this district.
In addition, investigating ways of creating energy such as using solar energy fields or Ground source thermal heating as alternatives to fossil fuels.

Finally to honour and celebrate our historical heritage and values.
